We seek the wild. We find solace in places untouched.
Our parks preserve the picturesque, the odd, the sublime.
Yet we are partitioned and divided. Our imaginations isolate the natural, locating it on the fringes. We spend little time in the spaces we glorify for their wildness as our ecological crisis deepens.
I seek, through memory, metaphor, thoughtfulness and intentionality, to build an intrinsic connection to the most overlooked wild: the land we inhabit.
